If I could be

If I were just a pair of shoes,
I’d want to be on you
For I would cushion all your steps
And hug your feet, I’d do.

Yet, If I were a simple comb,
I’d be yours if I could.
I’d fondle every hair with care,
I’d be your pet, I would!

But if I were a sweet perfume,
I’d rest behind your ear,
And I would be the sweetest scent
And cherish you, my dear.

But if I had a choice to be
A very special thing,
I’d be a kiss upon your lips,
T’would make my spirit sing.

There are so many things to be,
But each I’d choose for you,
So I could touch or be a part
Of everything you do.

Mother Power

If Mothers today
Were given the power,
World turmoil would fade
Within the hour.

And those little boys
Who dress up in men’s suits
Would lose all their toys,
And their titles, to boot.

They’d be ordered to sit
In chairs facing the wall,
To not move a bit.
Nor cry out or call.

Told to think of their loved ones,
Their families and friends,
And the wrong that’s been done
By cruel, thoughtless, old men.

War games played by children
Aren’t the same for adults,
No real bullets then,
No disastrous results.

Not a soul dies,
No one loses a limb,
No mothers cry,
And no minds are dimmed.

But now small men,
In expensive suits,
Need to grow up,
And face the truths.

To start counting their blessings,
And searching their souls,
To forget window dressings,
And re-think their goals.

How dare they decide
That others must fight?
Who’ll live and who’ll die?
What gives them such right?

Oh, you grown-up men,
With your small boy minds,
This nonsense should end,
It’s common sense time.

Get up from those chairs,
Turn around and shake hands,
Show signs that you care,
Cut out stupid shams.

What one sows, one will reap,
Hate’s not good for one’s soul.
Conversation is cheap,
Communication is gold.

Your mothers were right,
When you were small lads,
If you get into a fight,
Don’t go to bed mad.

Kiss and make up,
Before the sun sets,
So if one doesn’t wake up,
There’ll be no regrets.

Mothers are wise,
Don’t sell them short,
They make apple pies,
And give hugs for support.

Put Mothers in charge,
Let them hold the rudder,
Their instructions aren’t hard,
“JUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER!”

Moonlight shadows

Soft whispers of fragrance touch my flesh in the night
As I walk through the garden of sexual delight
Each flower I pass touches gently on me
Pressing the petals of softness I see

Colours of passion swim through my thoughts
As I touch every leaf that I pass in the dark
An aura of softness, A cocoon covers me
I feel my heart pound as I look through the trees

Adonis lies hidden in a foliage of green
With arms stretched toward me and a body so lean
Transfixed by his beauty, a chill down my spine
I walk to his arms and I know he is mine

Reflections

Reflections

Our lives are running
Side by side
On different roads
Yet we reside
Within one home
A friendship place
To share a magic
Time and space
We keep in touch
With much to share
And in the quiet
We know we care
Our separate hearts
Are somehow one
Like a reflection
In the sun
My friend, your soul has touched my life
Your heart has made mine smile
My spirit gladly walks beside you
A gift I have a little while
I see a star
You make it new
I know you not
Yet always knew
My every thought
Finds yours there too
So much our visions
Share a view
I guess they call
It destiny
When strangers find
A rendezvous
When you bring out
The best in me
And I reflect
The best in you

Solitary Beauty

See the mist upon the Rose
So rich this velvet dew
Creation of this masterpiece
Is now within our view

Petals folded graciously
Then reaching like a prayer
Miracle of beauty’s light
Within each flower fair

Colors of the softest glow
Brings calmness so serene
Scent of love that lingers on
Such beauty we can glean

Soft the flower of all love
That gives a gift so pure
Single rose within your life
Perfection to be sure

Nature gives us special Rose
To heal a broken heart
Make us smile and give us joy
What blessing it imparts

Here’s a Rose I give to you
With love and peace I send
Petals of a velvet Rose
With love that never ends.

Reflections I can see I wear

Reflections I can see I wear
Within my heart they’re always there
No matter what in life I try to see
The truth is staring straight at me

I try to find that special goal
The one in life that makes me whole
For reasons that I must confess
These things in life I can’t express

But I know within my heart
Strength will come and have its part
I know that I need confidence
To bear my heart with truthfulness

Face the things that hold me back
Quench my soul with what I lack
Then reflections you will see
Will be the very heart of me

Doing this my greatest test
Hopeful dreams for all the rest
Look inside my heart you’ll find
The woman now that I’ve designed.

Petals made like silken lace

Petals made like silken lace
They open like sweet prayer
Drenched in dew by nature’s love
Her glory can’t compare

Feel the velvet fill your soul
With magic of her bloom
Feel the softness of it’s touch
The scent of her perfume

Sweet the Rose that fills my heart
Magnificence divine
Close my eyes she fills my life
With words that cling like vine

Within my heart her beauty soft
Majestic peace she shares
Wrapped within her softest glow
Life’s magic waiting there

Close your eyes in rapture’s bloom
Her beauty shall abound
Upon the earth her greatest joy
Love’s testament is crowned.

Raindrops of Reflections

Raindrops of reflection
Within a crystal pool
Created by the beauty
Of heaven’s sweetest jewel

Falling in a pattern
Utterly divine
Clinging to the petals
Quenching on the vine

Softness of its beauty
For all our eyes to see
Remarkable reflection
Of nature’s harmony

Glowing with such sparkle
That seems to beckon me
Touch of crystal beading
Sparkling beautifully

Glory in this vision
Of soft and misty rain
Comes from nature’s glory
With sparkles that remain.

A little white mouse and the cat

A mouse – a mouse – a little, white mouse,
Is lost somewhere within this house,
The cat is sad; she feels so bad,
Yet, she’s the one that lost this mouse.

Bathed in catnip, fuzzy-furred,
Soft and pinky-white,
A present wrapped in red and gold,
A true, feline delight.

The cat enamored with this toy,
Carried it around the room,
Cats do smile; I saw her,
Her cat-world was in bloom.

She tossed the mouse into the air,
And caught it coming down,
A hundred times she did this,
Her joy knew no bounds.

Nothing there is that’s so much fun,
As watching a cat at play,
Uninhibited and free,
Spontaneous and gay.

I felt a special joy, too,
As I watched my little friend,
Then a moment of distraction came,
Bringing fun time to an end.

The cat now sitting quietly,
The mouse gone – disappeared,
I said, “Honey, where’s your mouse?”
She looked blank and scratched her ear.

I searched the entire place,
On hands and knees, down on the floor,
I even got a flashlight out,
The cat yawned; she was bored.

I was worn out; I was a wreck,
But I don’t think she cared,
She merely went to sleep,
On the cushion in the chair.

“You idiot!” I said to me,
As I stood with hands on hips,
Where could that little mouse have gone?
Surely not between her lips.

I picked her up and looked at her,
We met ‘eye to eye.’
“DID YOU EAT THAT MOUSE?” I asked.
She made no effort to reply.

Mouses come and mouses go,
And all mouses are not edible,
Explain that to a little cat,
If you can make it credible.

Did I ever find her mouse?
Nope. I never did,
Whatever happened to it,
It got itself well-hid.

I’ve also come to the conclusion,
She doesn’t give a whit,
But when cleaning out her litter box,
I keep wondering, “Is that it?”

An angel in your pocket

I am a tiny angel …
I’m smaller than your thumb;
I live in people’s pockets,
That’s where I have my fun.

I don’t suppose you’ve seen me,
I’m too tiny to detect;
Though I’m with you all the time,
I doubt we’ve ever met.

Before I was an Angel …
I was a fairy in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.

Now God has many Angels
That He trains in Angel pools;
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands …
We become His special tools.

And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do;
He said that my assignment
Was to keep close watch on you.

Then He tucked me in your pocket,
Blessing you with Angel care;
Saying I must never leave you,
And I vowed to stay right there!

-o-o-
God’s Speed, My Angel”

Among the many blessings,
That God has sent my way …
Was a tiny pocket Angel,
That fluttered in one day.

God placed her in a pocket,
She seemed quite happy there;
She did her job of guarding,
And providing Angel care.

I loved that tiny Angel,
But soon word reached my ears …
She had been seen in Switzerland,
And China and Algiers.

I wondered if she’d flown away,
So I took another look …
And there she was, where she belonged,
Right in her pocket nook.

How could it be that she was seen
In a strange and foreign land …
Yet still be in her pocket home?
I did not understand.

My guess is God made more than one,
He might have made a pair;
When a pocket picker picked up one,
He left the other there.

Blessings on you, pocket picker …
Whoever you may be;
You badly need an Angel,
Maybe … two or three!

And God’s Speed to you, my Angel,
No matter where you are;
I’m glad God made you shareable,
With all souls … near and far!
